Message from Mrs Kingston We have noticed increasing levels of playground chat about the game Fortnite— Battle Royale which is a PEGI 12+ gun battle game which requires players to work as a team. The main risks to children are interacting with strangers and also making costly in-app purchases. If your child is talking about Fortnite, please follow this link to find out more about it. https:// www.internetmatters.org/hub/guidance/ fortnite-battle-royal-parents-guide-keepkids-safe-gaming/

Welcome to Year 5!

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been fantastic to have the children back in class this week, the classroom feels right again. They have shown such focus and determination this week, as well as a passion for learning – which is fantastic!

Our topic this term is “How do living things grow?”. In our Topic lessons we will be looking at the biomes of planet earth and how this affects growth. In Science we will be looking at the different life cycles of plants and animals. For more information please see the topic web.

I will continue to update class dojo with photos of our learning, activities we have done and any information you need. Please check it regularly for any changes. As always if you have a concern or you would like to get in touch please do send me a message on class dojo.

Finally, I would like to say thank you for the support you gave myself and the children during the time of home learning. I understand how difficult it is when working from home and appreciate the support for myself and the children.

Miss Ormsby
