Our intent is to:
Mathematics: For every child to develop a sound understanding of Mathematics, equipping them with the skills of calculation, reasoning and problem solving that they need in life beyond school.
English: To deliver a quality English Curriculum that is exciting and innovative while enabling and empowering children’s written and oral communication, creativity and confidence.
History: To empower learners to become curious, to develop their own opinions by evaluating evidence, and to build a deeper understanding of the present by engaging with and questioning the past.
Geography: To ignite a curiosity of their surroundings, broaden the children's knowledge of the wider world and understand the interaction between human and physical processes.
Computing: To develop the children’s experience and understanding of Computing and how to conduct themselves safely and appropriately online. We aim to prepare the children for jobs of the future and to ensure they have a positive attitude online.

Learners will be supported by a curriculum which will enable children to grow and become proficient in the accumulation of skills. They will have the vocabulary to be able to discuss and appreciate the study of significant art pieces and will learn about the history of art and its significance in our global society

Our curriculum calendar shows you the wider events that we celebrate here at Holy Cross. It shows when important dates are celebrated in school. This could be in the form of an event such as a non-uniform day to raise money for charity or a piece of work over a period of time to celebrate events such as black history month.
Here at Holy Cross we serve a diverse community and we want to ensure that we show this diversity throughout our curriculum. Each term we focus on a particular subject e.g. Mathematics and each class will study a particular diverse figure within that subject. We do this so that all children have high aspirations of themselves and that they understand that they can all achieve great things if they put their mind to it. However, throughout our topics we will always ensure a broad and diverse range of people are studied.
