Message from Mrs Kingston We have noticed increasing levels of playground chat about the game Fortnite— Battle Royale which is a PEGI 12+ gun battle game which requires players to work as a team. The main risks to children are interacting with strangers and also making costly in-app purchases. If your child is talking about Fortnite, please follow this link to find out more about it. https:// fortnite-battle-royal-parents-guide-keepkids-safe-gaming/

Our topic in Term 6 is ‘Arabian Nights. We will be studying the book ‘One Thousand and One Arabian Nights’ in our English lessons. This is a collection of Middle Eastern folktales includes Aladdin and Ali Baba. In our topic lessons we will be finding out about trade and travel in Baghdad circa 900AD. The topic will be further complimented by our art work on Islamic geometric patterns.

This term PE is taught on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Please ensure that your child has the correct PE clothes and footwear in school on these days.

Homework is sent home on a Friday and should be returned on Wednesday. Children will be set either a piece of writing, a reading comprehension or a maths task to complete, along with spellings and weekly times tables for a test on Friday.

Please continue to read with your child as often as possible and record this in their reading record.

And finally….

If you wish to speak to me about anything concerning your child please do not hesitate to do so.  You are welcome to visit us on Thursday mornings from 8:40am for 'stay and read' or 'stay and count'.

Thank you for your support.
