Year 4 playing a variety of wind instruments, can you explain why the sound changes? Can you use the correct vocabulary?

Can you guess the tune?

On 6th December 2016 Year 4 experienced a sound workshop with Explorer Dome and they played this tune using only corks and different pipe lengths, can you guess what the tune is?

Today Year 4 presented a fantastic Harvest Assembly around the theme of the feeding the hungry, one of the seven corporal works of Mercy. The assembly echoed the words of Pope Francis and was inspired by CAFOD and their theme of Brightening up Harvest.

The children wore brightly coloured tops, sang a range of songs including: Cauliflower and cabbages, Feed the world (Do they know it's Harvest time?) and Thank you Lord for this new day.  They also acted the the gospel story of feeding the 5000 (John 6:1-5), wrote Harvest promises, which you can read on our Catholicity page and read seven small prayers represented on five loaves of bread and two fish.

The children worked extremely hard on their performance and gave 100%, I am so proud of them as I am sure you are too. Thank you to those who were able to come and watch the performance and who donated at the end of the assembly.

Hymn - Thank you Lord, For this New day

I am in the process of booking some fantastic trips for Year 4 for the whole year. Once I have these dates arranged, I will let you know the cost. If you have any concerns about the costs of trips, please do come and see me and we can come to an arrangement. I do appreciate the costs of trips can be high but I wouldn’t ask you to pay if I didn’t think the trip was worth it.

Finally, thank you for your support and please if you would like to speak to me about anything concerning your child please do not hesitate to book an appointment with me through the school office.

Thank you,

Miss Ormsby
