Art- Week 5: Anglo Saxons
Every week on a Friday we do Art. Please find below an adapted activity we would be doing together in class.
WALT: compare methods of weaving.
You will need:
• Three or four straight sticks
• elastic bands
• wool or string
Make a frame by lashing the sticks together in a triangle or a rectangle; you can use the elastic bands or the string to do this. Tie the wool to one corner and wrap the wool around the frame, gradually working across with the threads about 1cm apart. Tie off the string. Weave in natural materials. You can do the same as loom frame weaving using a forked stick or a length of flexible wood like willow, holly, hazel or ivy bent and tied into a circle.
