As we enter Autumn, please make sure your child has a sweatshirt and coat in school. For outdoor PE sessions they will need trainers/daps, joggers/leggings and a sweatshirt or hoodie.

TT Rock stars competition

 

This week we entered a national competition against other schools on Times table rock stars. We ended the week by dressing up as rockstars. What do you think? Team Toogood Rock group on the way!

Orbiting planets

Today we worked scientifically using models in order to see how the Earth and other planets rotate and make revolutions around the sun.

Year 5 have been using their design, making and evaluating skills while making a Christmas toy for someone special. They aren't finished yet but watch this space.

Marvin Rees, The Mayor of Bristol visits Year 5

This morning Year 5 were extremely lucky. We met the Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees. He spoke to the children about having high aspirations of ourselves and not to let anything get in our way of our dreams. He spoke about the importance of hard work, resilience and not to let set backs get us down. He also stressed the importance of choosing the right type of friends and having the right people around us. After the assembly he invited us to city hall to see where he works.

Y5 Drama - Explaining rotation and reflection

Children participated in a drama workshop all about space. In this video they worked in groups to show how the Earth and Moon orbit the Sun. Children worked very well together.
