A representative from GWR came to talk to the children about the History of the British Railway. Our visitor was impressed with the children's knowledge that they had gained from the term already. Our visitor began talking about the very first trains of horses and carriages pulling coal from mines right up to modern day. We discussed the impact (both positive and negative) of the railway on Britain and looked at how the railways expanded over the years.
Children used the idea of perspective drawing. First we practiced the skill and then we applied it to a picture of a train going over a bridge.
Year 5 participated in a Samba dancing workshop. It was incredible fun and we can't wait to show off our dancing moves next time we have a chance. Unfortunately the videos were too big for the website, but they are on class dojo. Enjoy!
