As we enter Autumn, please make sure your child has a sweatshirt and coat in school. For outdoor PE sessions they will need trainers/daps, joggers/leggings and a sweatshirt or hoodie.

Lent- Ash Wednesday

 

We are now in the Church season of Lent. The first day of Lent was last Wednesday and is called Ash Wednesday. It is the start of our preparation for Easter. Lent is a special time when the church invites everyone to examine their lives, to make Lenten promises and to make a fresh start.

Gospel: Matthew 4:1-11

 

We’re going on a Lent adventure! In the Gospel for Ash Wednesday, Jesus challenges us to pray, to fast and to give. So today, and throughout Lent, our resources will encourage children to make their prayer life richer, to stop doing some things which in turn will free them to go out to others with acts of service.

Write some ideas that they you can enact as part of your Lent adventure. During this time, you may like to introduce some firm commitments that you or your school will undertake during Lent, such as raising funds for a particular charity, or a new prayer commitment, or helping others in the community.
